Day 1: Casablanca to Rabat

Your 7-day tour from Casablanca to Marrakech begins in Casablanca with a visit to the magnificent Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest and most beautiful mosques in the world. After exploring this architectural wonder, we drive to Rabat, the capital city.

In Rabat, you’ll discover the Kasbah of the Udayas, a historic fortress with incredible views of the Atlantic. We’ll also stop by the famous Hassan Tower, an unfinished minaret, and take a stroll through the Rabat Medina to experience local life and crafts. We’ll also visit the Chellah, an ancient Roman and medieval ruin site that offers a glimpse into Morocco’s historical layers.

After spending time in Rabat, we head to Fez, where you’ll settle in for the night at a traditional Riad. Tomorrow, we’ll explore Meknes and its surroundings as part of this incredible 7 day desert tour from Casablanca.

Day 2: Visit Meknes, Moulay Zerhoun, and Volubilis

Start the second day of your 7 days Morocco tour with a traditional Moroccan breakfast in your Riad. Our first stop is the historic city of Meknes, one of the four imperial cities in Morocco. In Meknes, we’ll visit the famous Bab Mansour, a grand gate renowned for its intricate design and beautiful tile work. We’ll also explore Heri es-Souani, the ancient granaries, and stables built by Sultan Moulay Ismail, showcasing the architectural grandeur of the time. This stop offers a fascinating glimpse into the imperial past of Meknes and Morocco, enlightening you about its long history.

Day 3: Explore Fez and Its Surroundings

Start your day with a visit to Borj Nord, a 16th-century fortress offering great views of Fez. Inside, explore a museum with an impressive collection of arms and armor, making it a unique stop on your 7 day tour from Casablanca to Marrakech.

Next, we’ll head to the Royal Palace, Dar el Makhzen. Though the palace is closed to visitors, its stunning brass doors and detailed architecture are worth admiring. From there, we enter the walled city of Fez, beginning at the iconic Bab Boujloud (Blue Gate). As we walk through the lively souqs, you’ll get a natural feel for the Moroccan medina culture.

We’ll visit the Chouara Tannery, where you can see how leather goods are made using ancient techniques. We’ll also stop by the Al-Qarawiyyin Mosque and Al Attaryne Madrassa, highlighting Fez’s long history and unique architecture. In the evening, we visit the Marinid Tombs, where you can enjoy a peaceful sunset overlooking the city, a perfect end to the third day of your 7 days Morocco tour.

After a day of adventure, we’ll return to your Riad in Fez for a well-deserved rest, ready for more explorations.

Day 4: Sahara Desert Trip Through The Middle Atlas

Today, we’ll journey through the stunning Middle Atlas Mountains, a key part of your 7 day tour from Casablanca to Marrakech. By mid-morning, we’ll arrive in Ifrane. This charming city looks like a Swiss village, surrounded by ancient cedar and oak forests. Take the beautiful scenery and meet the Barbary Macaques, who live near an 800-year-old cedar tree.

As we travel, we’ll stop along the way to capture amazing views and explore the diverse landscapes of the Middle Atlas, including the palm groves and rugged lands of the nomadic Berber tribes. By afternoon, we’ll cross the mountains and reach a caravan of dromedaries waiting to guide us through the Sahara Desert.

Enjoy a spectacular sunset camel ride across the sand dunes before arriving at a traditional desert camp. Here, you’ll spend the night in warm tents or sleep under the stars, wrapped in blankets, for a true Sahara desert tour experience. This day offers memorable moments, adding a special touch to your 7 days in Morocco.

Day 5: Exploring the Desert

Day five begins at dawn with the bellows of dromedaries. Hike to the top of a sand dune to watch the sky change colors, then ride your dromedary to a lodge on the outskirts of the dunes for breakfast. After plenty of mint tea, we’ll explore the region, starting with a visit to the village of Khamlia to experience live Gnawa music, a spiritual celebration of freedom. As we make our way to the Todra Gorge Pass, we will pass historic Kasbahs built by Gnawa ancestors. We will enjoy a scenic drive with stops for photos, then have lunch by the river and maybe dip our feet in the cold mountain water. We’ll also enjoy a hike through part of the gorge.

After a day full of adventures, we’ll rest in a picturesque inn for the night.

Day 6: Kasbahs & Oases to Ouarzazate

The day starts early with the sounds of dromedaries calling you to the desert. Hike up the sand dunes to watch the sunrise as the sky changes colors. Afterward, ride your camel to a nearby lodge for a hearty breakfast and some refreshing mint tea.

We will begin exploring the area by visiting the village of Khamlia, where you’ll experience live Gnawa music. This spiritual celebration tells the stories of freedom. Next, we’ll visit nomads living in the desert and enjoy optional activities like a 4WD excursion or a thrilling quad ride over the sand dunes.

After a day of desert adventures, we’ll make our way to the Todra Gorge Pass, passing by historic Kasbahs built by the ancestors of the Gnawa people. We’ll stop for lunch by the river, where you can dip your feet in the cool water before taking a hike through the gorge.

We’ll end the day with a peaceful night at a picturesque inn, resting up for the next adventure in your 7 days tour from Casablanca to Marrakech.

Day 7: The Mountains to Marrakech

We’ll start the day early, leaving Ouarzazate for a scenic drive through the Atlas Mountains on the way to Marrakech. The journey will take us past breathtaking landscapes, traditional Berber villages, and lush valleys, with plenty of stops along the way to enjoy the scenery and take photos.

Once we arrive in Marrakech, you’ll have the evening to explore the city at your own pace. Wander through the bustling souqs, visit landmarks like the Koutoubia Mosque, or relax in Jamaa El-Fna Square. You can also enjoy a rooftop dinner overlooking the lively streets.

Although we don’t offer guided tours in Marrakech, we’re happy to assist with recommendations for your independent exploration. If you want to extend your trip, we can arrange a tour to the peaceful coastal town of Essaouira, a great addition to your 7-day Morocco tour.

• Hassan II Mosque dress code – On Day 1, shoulders and knees must be covered to enter the mosque. Carry a light scarf for extra coverage if needed.
• Rabat to Fez drive – This leg takes about 2.5 hours. We recommend downloading offline maps or a podcast, as mobile signal drops briefly in rural stretches.
• Meknes and Volubilis sun – Day 2 involves open‑air ruins with minimal shade. A hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen (SPF 50) are essential, even in spring or autumn.
• Fez medina footwear – On Day 3 you’ll walk several kilometres through uneven cobbled alleys. Closed‑toe shoes with grip make a real difference.
• Middle Atlas altitude – Day 4 crosses the Middle Atlas at over 2,000 metres. Temperatures can drop quickly. Keep a fleece or jacket accessible in the vehicle, not buried in your luggage.

• Toilets on the road – Between remote stops (e.g., the desert to Todra Gorge), facilities are basic. Carry tissues, hand sanitiser, and small change (1‑2 MAD) for attendants. Read our Sahara Desert Camps facilities to manage your expectations accordingly.
• Todra Gorge water shoes – On Day 5 you’ll have the chance to dip your feet in the river. Lightweight sandals or water shoes are ideal; the riverbed is rocky.
• Ouarzazate to Marrakech drive – Day 7 crosses the Tizi n’Tichka pass (2,260 m). If you’re prone to motion sickness, take medication before the climb. The views are worth it — charge your camera.
• Vegetarian / dietary needs – Let us know in advance. Most stops can accommodate vegetarian, vegan, or gluten‑free requests, but some remote camps need notice.
• Cash for small purchases – ATMs are scarce between Ouarzazate and Merzouga. Withdraw enough cash in Fez or Ouarzazate for tips, snacks, and souvenirs.
