This 3-day private tour connects three of Morocco's imperial cities: Rabat, Meknes, and Fez, with the modern energy of Casablanca. You'll stand beneath the glass floors of the Hassan II Mosque, walk the Roman mosaics of Volubilis still set into their original floors, and cross the Blue Gate into the car‑free acity of "Fez el‑Bali", where over 9,000 streets twist past tanneries, madrasas, and brass workshops. Every day is paced so you never feel rushed, and you'll travel with a licensed local driver who knows the back roads, the best cafés, and exactly when to arrive at each site before the crowds.
Start the day inside the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca, where the Atlantic light spills through glass floors and the minaret rises 210 metres above the ocean. From the mosque we drive north to Rabat. Walk the narrow paths of the Kasbah of the Udayas, a 12th century fortress whose white and blue walls overlook the mouth of the Bou Regreg river. Stand beneath the unfinished columns of the Hassan Tower and, before the afternoon crowds arrive, stop for a coffee or a mint tea at a café in the Agdal district, where the pace is quiet and the pastries are baked on site. The local souk winds through a few narrow streets nearby. It is small and genuine, with craftsmen working at their stalls rather than calling for your attention. At the end of the afternoon we drive to Fez and you settle into a traditional riad for the night.
After breakfast, walk through Bab Mansour, the great gate of Meknes. A short drive beyond the gate brings you to the Heri es Souani granaries, a vast complex of thick walled chambers and arched corridors that kept the imperial horses fed. From Meknes the road climbs to Moulay Idriss Zerhoun, a whitewashed town draped across two hills. It is one of the holiest places in Morocco, and even a short walk through its lanes feels calm and personal. A few kilometres further, Volubilis opens across a plateau of olive trees and wheat fields. The Roman mosaics are still set into their original floors; the House of Orpheus and the olive presses stand in the open air exactly where they were abandoned centuries ago. You return to your riad in Fez for a second quiet night.
On the final day, drive to Fez and climb to Borj Nord, a 16th century fortress on a hill above the old city. From the terrace the medina spreads out in a dense layer of rooftops and minarets. You stop briefly at the brass doors of the Royal Palace before crossing Bab Boujloud, the Blue Gate, into Fez el Bali. Inside the walls the city follows rules of its own: donkeys carry goods through alleys too narrow for cars, brass workers hammer at Place Seffarine, and the smell of ammonia rises from the Chouara Tannery where leather has been cured the same way for centuries. A guide leads you through the key madrasas and explains the architecture as you walk. As the day ends, climb to the Marinid Tombs on the hillside and watch the sun drop behind the medina. The call to prayer fills the valley below.
